55 Social Bookmarking Sites to Promote Your Blog Articles

If you would like a quick and easy way to submit your latest entry in your blog, social bookmarking sites are a good place to start. Many of these sites will show your site on their home page as soon as you submit it. It’s up to everyone else that uses each of these sites whether your site stays there or gets buried.

Don’t bother submitting your latest blog article if you plan on spamming. You’ll do nothing but irritate everyone and they will quickly flame you and nuke your story. They may even show up on your doorstep. :) Well…let’s hope not. Anyway, you know the drill – provide high quality content and if it’s good enough you may find yourself getting bombarded with traffic. What’s good enough? Well, perhaps check the section of each of these sites to see what is popular.

    There are tools that do this at one click. They even autoregister on the social bookmarking sites, then all you need to do is add your blogs, tags and title and click. The problem that even if you don’t use a tool to do this you need specify GOOD keywords, keywords that are used by other people too. Just as a tip DON’T put as keywords the title of the page. I’ve seen a lot of people doing this … if you have the same keywords with others your site will appear in their list too. Meaning if someone goes on his list about “flower” and your site is bookmarked with under the keyword “flower”, it will appear there!

  36. I started my blog a little over a week ago and am looking for additional ways to promote it. I’m finding social bookmarking sites difficult to break into as they are not as focused on my blog area (food). Everything seems so focused on celebrity/scandal/etc. Where are all the food lovers? :-)
