Here is what the beach looks like at the Catalonia Riviera Maya.  It was cloudy the day I took this, which is a good thing if you don’t want to get burned.  There are some rocky areas in the water, so I recommend you bring water shoes.  The best snorkeling I found in the area is to the left near some pipes that go under the bridge.
