One Hundred Pushup Challenge: Week 1 Finished

by manatee on August 10, 2008

Well, I just finished week 1 of the One Hundred Push Ups challenge and am amazed at how quickly your body is able to do more consecutive push ups….without cheating.  I can’t say it is fun doing push ups, but the thing I love most about this program is how you can do it anywhere.  Do it at home or while traveling on the road or vacation.

As long as you can find a space big enough to do push ups, you can do this program.  I’m at a hotel right now and finished the final day of week one.  With other excercise routines, it’s easy to screw up your momentum when you can’t find a gym to go to.

Two things I think help make push ups easier include doing three or four deep breaths before each set and placing the end of your feet against the wall.  Placing your feet against the wall might be a form of cheating, but it’s better than doing them on your knees.  Let’s call it a compromise.  :)

It’s hard to imagine being at the end of week 6 and doing 100 consecutive push ups… but I guess I’ll find out in about 5 weeks.  I’ll be pretty impressed if it works.  See ya next week!

Good luck - keep with it!
Towards the end of week 2 try to get your feet away from the wall, because although this is about reaching the magic 100, quality is definitely better than quantity.
