A couple weeks or few days ago I found out about FreeSEOReport.com – a newly launched service from Shoemoney. I tried it out, thought it was cool and put it out of my head.
Then I received an email that Free SEO Report held 2 of the top 10 spots of the most visited pages on the Internet according to Alexa.

I have started studying up on sites like this and what makes them tick. Why do some sites take off like a rocket and others blow up on the launch pad? I decided to dig through the site a bit and do a little analysis and what the hay… another report on one of my web sites. Here are some of my thoughts as to why his site has taken off… and perhaps is going viral.

- Focuses on YOUR domain names (people are always interested in themselves)
- Simple, clean, clutter free layout
- Builds email list for further related marketing
- Referral reward system – recruit others and you get another free report – helps build viral momentum for site
- Easy to find and use referral links and social media buttons on site
- Affiliate links and offers in follow up emails
- Offer to upgrade for pro service with unlimited reports
- Resulting SEO reports are high quality, detailed
I’m sure there are more traits from the site I’ve overlooked, but the above is a nice starting point. Overall I believe the main reason it is doing well is because it’s free, it provides a massive benefit to the user (free seo advice that can potentially increase users income) and has many features to help make the site go viral.
