How Much Turkey Per Person?

Thanksgiving is only a few days away and if you’re cooking for family, friends (and even your cats and dogs) you may be wondering how much turkey per person will be required.  There are many answers to this question, but to be on the safe side and if you want to keep it simple – for whole turkey plan on cooking 1 pound per person.  So if you have 10 people, plan on 10 pounds.  25 people – 25 pounds, and so on.

Can a Cat Scratch an iPad?

A viewer asks… Can a cat scratch an iPad?

Answer: I don’t know, but do you really want to find out? Some people claim that iPads are scratch proof. Others laugh at that claim. I’d recommend getting an iPad screen cover unless you are a millionaire and can afford to buy a new iPad whenever you feel like it.

Can You Eat Expired Chicken Breast if it Has Been in The Freezer?

A reader writes “can you eat expired chicken breast if it has been in the freezer”?

According to the USDA, you CAN eat that frozen expired chicken breast!

The use-by date is for quality assurance; after the date, peak quality begins to lessen but the product may still be used. It’s always best to buy a product before the date expires. If a use-by date expires while the chicken is frozen, the food can still be used because foods kept frozen continuously are safe indefinitely.
